FRAM and the Swedish Chemicals Agency hosted the 9th NeRSAP meeting

FRAM and the Swedish Chemicals Agency had the honor to host the 9th meeting of the Network of REACH SEA and Analysis of Alternatives practitioners (NeRSAP).

On September 26-27 around 45 members of NeRSAP gathered in the Dome of Vision in Gothenburg to exchange experiences on socio-economic analysis and analysis of alternatives to chemicals of concern under REACH. Participants came from European and national authorities, chemical and metal industry associations, consultancy firms, NGO and academia.

FRAM researcher Dr. Jessica Coria presented a scientific paper entitled "Political Economy of Listing of Substances of Very High Concern in the European REACH Regulation", and FRAM researcher Dr. Daniel Slunge presented on Lessons learned from using market-based instruments to phase out hazardous chemicals, a scientific paper written together with Francisco Alpizar from Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center in Costa Rica.
